Sharing innovation with European neighbours

We were honoured to be asked to share some of our ideas for preserving and utilising protein crops with European neighbours during a recent UK visit organised by Nickerson Seeds. And what better venues to demonstrate some innovative practices than the farms of the Bean family in Northumberland (featured in KnowHow in spring 2024) and the Barker family from Yorkshire.

Michael Carpenter, technical director with Kelvin Cave, addressed the group of farmers and Limagrain seed specialists from Belgium and the Netherlands and said: “There is always something for both parties to learn from such exchanges, and we were delighted the group could see some innovative ideas with protein crops, some of which were completely new to them, demonstrated so well on two exceptional farms.”
