Clamp sheeting range strengthened by Farmguard

A new high-strength, recyclable clamp sheeting has been launched by Kelvin Cave Ltd, offering added protection for silage or crimped grain clamps this season.

Called Farmguard and constructed using advanced e-7 technology, which brings seven different layers into one, the clamp sheeting comes with a wide range of properties. These include improved durability and tensile strength, tear resistance, a high degree of UV protection and easy, lightweight handling. A key component of Farmguard is its barrier to oxygen, which is up to 100 times that of standard silage sheeting.

For producers who increasingly aim to reduce their carbon footprint, Farmguard’s modern manufacturing process using resource-saving production techniques, and its full recyclability ensure it has top environmental credentials.

At a thickness of 100 microns it also has good elasticity, is easy to handle and generates less waste for disposal.

“Investing in a high-quality oxygen barrier or vacuum film to cover your forage has always been important,” says company MD, Kelvin Cave. “But, as input costs rise, minimising losses in the clamp is even more essential and brings bigger cost benefits than ever before.

“The qualities of this sheeting help avoid losses, preserve nutritional value and achieve longer storage for silage as well as crimped grain and other moist feedstocks and feeds,” he says.
